Saturday’s northern lights forecast is calmer than earlier this week, when a severe geomagnetic storm prompted lights visible in as many as 18 states.

The Northern Lights, otherwise known as Aurora Borealis, will be visible across multiple states in the U.S. on April 15 and 16, 2025. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has an "Aurora dashboard" that provides maps showing where the Northern Lights may be visible.
