Capricornus is Latin for "horned goat," and the folklore behind the constellation is an intriguing story. The folklore says that sea nymphs and goddesses all got together, including the god Pan.
Capricorn museum manager Bob Konrad watched the art piece come together over a matter of days. "The photo-realism and the detail in it is absolutely beautiful," says Konrad.
This week, at around 9:30 p.m. local daylight time, the sea-goat appears due south, when the Summer Triangle shines high overhead in the evening skies of early fall.
