The village of Aurora is taking action to prevent what it believes is an environmental threat to Cayuga Lake, despite a declaration from the state saying there is none.

After landing it and taking a few snapshots, Thompson released the fish back into the lake to spawn more Cayuga Lake slammers. She estimates that it weighed about 8 lbs. and measured 24 inches.
