Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin arrived at training camp Sunday without a new deal and was placed on the physically unable to perform list with an ankle injury.

Except he might now be a hold-in, meaning that he's not going to suit up for training camp practices. This might simply be a way to avoid the $50,000-a-day fines he could incur by being a training camp hold-out. Sounds like he'll be put on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and there's a reason for that (see below).

In training camp, when there are no fans and no stats and the scoreboard is only used for keeping time, one of the best ways to determine how practice is going is by listening to and watching the sidelines.
