OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - Ocean Springs gave an update on the ongoing improvements at Fort Maurepas Park on Wednesday. The city is building a new steel cover on its stage.

Fort Maurepas Park is now officially open to the public. The city held a ceremony, reception and fireworks show Saturday evening to celebrate the occasion.

Fort Richmond is a provincial riding located in south Winnipeg. This riding is currently represented by PC Manitoba MLA Sarah Guillemard who first took office in 2016.

The area near Fort Maurepas became known as Old-Biloxi, and later Ocean Springs. The few remaining Biloxi Natives migrated westward and merged with other tribes, notably the Tunica.
