The Kerala Food Safety Department has directed that food items – like samosa, peanuts, or fritters, should only be packaged using food-grade packing materials and not the widely popular newspapers.

In urban areas, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh had the maximum share of consumption for milk and milk products while for the remaining states it was beverages and processed food.
