In late-1960s NASCAR, it was all about aero. Mercury decided to create its Cyclone Spoiler II, a homologation special for its track aspirations.
This new configuration was standard on the Comet Cyclone GT, and customers loved it. The engine developed 265 horsepower standard, but Mercury didn't want to stop there.
