April wears a bracelet in memory of her daughter, a Vidor High School student who had dreams of becoming a nurse.

This nonprofit's volunteers are lovingly creating keepsakes for those who donated their loved ones' organs to save others.

There are more than 100,000 people awaiting an organ transplant in the U.S., including 1,400 here in Wisconsin.

WVU said that a registered organ donor can save up to eight lives with their organs and that around 500 people in West Virginia are waiting for an organ transplant.
