Pennsylvanians will now be able to hunt on more Sundays. Gov. Josh Shapiro signed House Bill 1431 into law on Wednesday, fully repealing the state's "outdated" ban on Sunday hunting. Shapiro says the new law will give the Game Commission the freedom to set hunting seasons "that make sense for today's sportsman."

After decades of debate between lawmakers, sportsmen, farmers and other outdoor recreationalists, Pennsylvania’s longstanding near-total ban on Sunday hunting has been lifted.

The state legislature passed a bill to end Pennsylvania's Sunday hunting ban with bipartisan support and Gov. Josh Shapiro plans to sign it on Tuesday.
