More than 100 vehicles crashed on Interstate 84 through Oregon, injuring multiple people and shutting down the highway for miles on Thursday.

Multiple people were reportedly trapped in their vehicles and first responders were moving from car to car checking if anyone needed assistance in getting out of their cars.

Authorities say a more than 100-vehicle pileup in whiteout conditions has closed part of a major interstate along the Columbia River near Portland, Oregon.
