Flags are half-staff across the U.S. and Texas today, as President Donald Trump ordered them lowered to recognize the fallen firefighters of 2024.

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered flags in Texas immediately lowered to half-staff in honor of Pope Francis, who died Monday morning.

You'll notice flags flying at half-staff Sunday across Virginia. Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued an order on Friday that U.S. and Commonwealth of Virginia flags be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service Day.
