Traditional games are returning to Cherokee County soon. On Saturday, March 2,9 Tahlequah individuals and teams can compete to earn a spot in the finals in August before Cherokee National Holiday.
This year will be the first time a full Seattle team — 13 student athletes — will participate in the Annual Traditional Games in Alaska.
Throughout the three-day event, athletes from 30 different teams competed in a dozen different games rooted in Indigenous hunting and survival skills.
