Asus has announced its first-ever Fan Edition gaming phone, the Asus ROG Phone 9 FE. At least that’s what we assume FE means, going by Samsung’s use of the term. We’ve not seen any other brands use it and Asus doesn’t outright explain the abbreviation.

ASUS debuted its budget ROG Phone 9 FE in Taiwan today (Feb 5). The device features similar specs to its flagship siblings, like a 6.7-inch FHD Plus screen, a 50MP primary lens, but it contains the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device is on sale in Taiwan for THB 29,999, which is roughly $894.

Less expensive version with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip ASUS has officially announced its less expensive version of the ROG Phone 9, the ROG Phone 9 FE, which will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 3 SoC, while the rest of the specifications remain the same.

ASUS has silently introduced the ROG Phone 9 FE in Thailand, after introducing the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro back in November last year. This has similar display as the ROG Phone 9, but replaces the Snapdragon 8 Elite with the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The camera and battery specifications are similar to the ROG Phone 8.
