Michigan State’s Tom Izzo was named Big Ten Coach of the Year for the fourth time, among the other conference awards announced Tuesday.

Purdue’s Braden Smith was named the Big Ten player of the year and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo coach of the year by both the league’s coaches and the media in voting coordinated by the conference.

Braden Smith brushed preseason player of the year aside in October, saying he wantred the postseason honor. He got it, but not the way he wanted.
