"Heart Eyes," in theaters this weekend, is a one-of-a-kind accomplishment. It's a slasher movie that is just as much a romantic comedy and vice versa. It's not trying to be either of these things, it just is.

There is a new entry in the holiday horror movie canon coming this February. Like "Thanksgiving" and "Black Christmas" before it, "Heart Eyes" aims to find grisly fun in a holiday that typically isn't associated with the horror genre.

Directed by Josh Ruben, "Heart Eyes" is a lovesick holiday horror flick starring Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding and Gigi Zumbado. The film will be released in theaters nationwide on Feb. 7.
