Houston will sign former Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb to a one-year contract if Chubb passes his physical with the Texans on Monday, per multiple reports. Chubb, 29, missed most of 2023 after a season-ending injury in Week 2, and he logged just eight games last season before a broken foot ended his season in Week 15.

If all goes well with a physical, Nick Chubb is expected to sign with the Houston Texans. That's according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who reported on Sunday that Chubb is expected to sign with the Texans on Monday, pending a physical. Terms of a potential deal were not reported.

The addition of Chubb also means the Texans will face a roster crunch at the running back position soon. Chubb will be the fifth running back on a team that just spent a fourth-round pick on adding depth to the backfield, re-signed Dare Ogunbowale earlier in the offseason and signed Mixon to a three-year extension last year.
