As has often been the case this season, Juan Soto was a footnote in the New York Mets' 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday. The 2019 World Series champion went 1-for-4 with a walk, but didn't score or drive in a run.

The right fielder was 5-for-10 in his previous three games against the St. Louis Cardinals, including a two-run double that gave the Mets a 5-3 lead in Sunday’s win. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza pointed to that hit as a “good sign” that Soto was about to break out.
