Luka Dončić's physical transformation was a process in the works even before the Dallas Mavericks decided to trade him to the Los Angeles Lakers.

In February, basketball fans were stunned to see that the Mavericks’ general manager, Nico Harrison, sent Doncic to the Lakers. This resulted in a trade between the two teams, bringing center forward Anthony Davis to the Mavericks.

Since trading Luka Doncic in early February, not much has gone the Mavericks’ way. While they landed the No. 1 pick in the draft lottery and snagged Cooper Flagg, Kyrie Irving’s torn ACL and various injuries in the frontcourt that have carried into the offseason leave Dallas in a tricky position going into next season.
