Jelena Ostapenko beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka to win the Stuttgart Open in stunning fashion. Ostapenko, who had failed to win in three previous meetings against Sabalenka, took the match 6-4 6-1.

Jelena Ostapenko made a confident but also very interesting claim after her Stuttgart triumph, saying that she pretty much had a special feeling right from Day 1 at the tournament and that she felt she could win the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Unseeded Jelena Ostapenko crushed world number one Aryna Sabalenka 6-4 6-1 on Monday to win the claycourt title in Stuttgart for her first singles trophy of the year.
