US stocks fell on Friday as investors reacted to the threat of more possible tariffs from the Trump administration while digesting a jump in consumer expectations for inflation and an overshadowed monthly jobs report.

The ICE U.S. Dollar Index was up 0.4% in recent trading after the latest reports about President Donald Trump's tariff plans. The index stood at 108.10 in recent trading. The euro, meanwhile, was off by 0.5% at $103, while the dollar was modestly lower against the Japanese yen.

U.S. stocks slumped as worries flared again on Wall Street about tariffs and inflation. The S&P 500 fell 0.9% Friday and wiped out what had been a modest gain for the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank 1%,
