With the Republican-controlled Congress moving forward with President Donald Trump's call to extend the 2017 individual tax cuts, Democrats and Republicans are spinning the facts about who would benefit.

Through February 2025, the average tax refund was $3,182. That's a 6.3% increase from the same period in 2024.
