“ The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon ” has been renewed for a fourth and final season, it was announced during the show’s San Diego Comic Con panel on Friday. Production on the eight-episode Season 4 will begin this month in Spain. It will film in and around Madrid in locations like Bilbao, Galicia, Andalucía, the Segovia region, Toledo and more.

Last year, Walking Dead franchise executive producer Scott M. Gimple, who joined Reedus and McBride in EW's Comic-Con studio this year along with Daryl Dixon executive producer David Zabel, told EW it was his "fervent hope" to be able to reunite characters from across the extended franchise.

Walking Dead czar Scott M. Gimple believes the franchise can endure for upwards of another 15 years, so long as the characters remain great.
