Snowfall totals have surpassed 5 feet in some areas, including Castorland, Copenhagen and Barnes Corners in northern New York, which have each received 69.5 inches.

The most significant snowfalls were reported in Copenhagen, where 65.9 inches of snow accumulated, and Barnes Corners, which recorded 65.5 inches.

That’s nearly 5 feet of snow. And in Lake County, readings from weather service spotters topped out at 43.5 inches, with other spots above 2 feet.

In Chanhassen, 7.4 inches is being reported. Just over an inch of snow has been reported in St. Cloud. In Wisconsin, Hudson had nearly 10 inches of snow and River Falls had about 10.5 inches.

A beach hazard was issued Tuesday for beaches in northern and central Cook County and is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, weather officials said, as waves between 3 and 5 feet were expected.
