Apple said apps developed by ByteDance and its subsidiaries would no longer be available for download or updates on the US app store from Sunday.

Apple Inc. and Google removed TikTok from their mobile app stores in the US as required by a law that took effect Sunday, after the social media company’s legal challenges failed to head off the measure passed last year to address national security concerns.

In the wake of the recent TikTok ban in the US, Apple has removed several other apps associated with ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok. This move comes as the company complies with the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.
