Having lost patience with Boeing, President Donald Trump is embarking on his own Air Force One project to ensure he has a new 747 ready by the end of the year.

Since his first administration, Donald Trump has obsessed over replacing Air Force One. However, delays with the contracted Boeing have pushed delivery back by another decade. Now, Trump’s impatience is showing as he’s commissioned an interim plane from another contractor on top of the existing multi-billion contract with Boeing.

L3Harris Technologies has been contracted to modify a used Qatari Boeing 747 as a possible replacement for Air Force One.
