The new measure also changed the four acres of Engineers Country Club within Oyster Bay to two-acre zoning. Zoning previously allowed for a single-family home every 0.16 acres on that property.

The same 2-acre zoning change was recommended for the four acres of Engineers Country Club that are within the Town of Oyster Bay. Zoning there now allows for one single-family lot every 0.16 acre.

Passed at the county council’s meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, the project includes building 65 single-family homes at 1091 West Highway Nine near the Jack Nicklaus-designed Long Bay Golf Club.
