A small whale drew a crowd this week when it entered harbor waters in Long Beach. Video from NewsChopper4 showed the whale late Thursday morning near a Catalina Express dock in the Shoreline Marina.

In a special-called meeting Thursday night, aldermen voted to open bids to repair and improve the inner harbor.

The 25-foot whale doesn’t seem sick or injured, but the hope is that the whale can soon find its way out to sea.
