The East Aceh Police have named four Myanmar nationals as suspects in an alleged human smuggling case involving Rohingyas.

Intense conflict in Myanmar’s Rakhine State has worsened the plight of the Rohingya, a persecuted and stateless Muslim minority, pushing increasing numbers to flee by boat.

The victim, whose identity is still unknown due to a lack of identification, died in a hospital in Selangor, Malaysia after undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds to his kidneys.
