There are currently three thunderbolt sirens — the original sirens from the ’50s — still working in Sedgwick County. Those are the oldest thunderbolt sirens still in operation, Charvat said.

The ribbon was cut on Saturday for the oldest Thunderbolt siren in Sedgwick County. Four of the sirens are being restored. A young child has been hurt in a shooting in southeast Wichita.
