The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a flood warning for Haw Creek near Clifford. Locally heavy rainfall of 2 to over 3 inches is causing a sharp rise in creek and stream levels and is bringing flooding to Haw Creek.

At 6:58 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was issued in east-central Wake, northeastern Johnston, Nash, and eastern Franklin counties. It came a minute after the NWS said a severe thunderstorm was located in Elm City, eight miles south of Nashville, moving northeast at 50 m.p.h.
