Here’s how the latest round of Netflix price increases look, with those on the "standard plan without ads" in line for the biggest cost hike, with Netflix asking for an additional $30 over the next 12 months compared to what you’ve been paying previously.

Netflix ended last year with more than 300 million subscribers - an increase of 41 million from 2023 and surpassing its previous best year of 2020, when pandemic lockdowns saw some 36 million turn to the streaming giant for entertainment.

Millions of people are about to be affected in another Netflix price hike. Currently, for UK viewers, the cheapest subscription costs £4.99 a month and includes adverts.

Netflix will raise prices across a number of countries after adding nearly 19 million subscribers in the final months of 2024. The streaming firm said it will increase subscription costs in the US, Canada, Argentina and Portugal. Asked if prices were set to increase in the UK, a spokesperson for Netflix said there was "nothing to share right now".

Netflix shares soared in premarket trading on Wednesday after the company reported a blockbuster holiday quarter as a robust content line-up and its entry into live sports streaming brought in a record number of new subscribers.
