New York City Mayor Eric Adams, New York City Police Department (NYPD) and Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch, got together to celebrate the destruction of 3,375 seized illegal firearms.

The fire spread quickly and destroyed buildings and vehicles after authorities said a bonfire was improperly extinguished.

Law enforcement said the intersection at Church Street and Carroll Street is closed, along with several other roads.
