A distant world unlike any planet in our own solar system could potentially be “teeming” with life, according to a groundbreaking new study. “We found the strongest evidence to date of possible biological activity on an exoplanet,” University of Cambridge professor Nikku Madhusudhan said in a video announcement.

Independent scientists described the findings as interesting, but not nearly enough to show the existence of life on another planet. “It is the strongest sign to date of any possibility of biological activity outside the solar system,” Cambridge astrophysicist Nikku Madhusudhan said during a livestream on Thursday.
