A new game announcement during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct has left Super Smash Bros. fans on Reddit divided.

There will be seven calendar years between the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in 2018 and Kirby Air Riders this year. However, Sora Ltd has not been working on Kirby Air Riders for seven years.

Kirby Air Riders was one of the biggest surprises of the Switch 2 Direct, but its development may mean that Smash Bros. fans will be kept waiting.
