By Joey Roulette and Akash Sriram WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Intuitive Machines' second moon landing appears to have suffered the same fate as the company's first attempt last year, with issues involving a laser range finder causing landing problems that resulted in the Athena lander falling on its side on the lunar surface,

NASA confirmed on X that Athena, which was built by Houston-based Intuitive Machines, touched down on the moon at approximately 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Intuitive Machines’ flight controllers are communicating with the lander and trying to figure out its orientation on the lunar surface.
