More depth for the Phoenix Suns next season is on the way. The Suns have claimed former Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Goodwin off free agency waivers, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. This pick up for Phoenix comes after Goodwin was waived by the Lakers to create roster space. The Lakers used that roster space to sign Marcus Smart.

The Los Angeles Lakers have recently explored trade possibilities to strengthen their rotation with KCP and Donte DiVincenzo.

"The main reason Smart chose the Lakers over other teams pursuing him, which included the Bucks and Suns, is because of Luka Doncic," Siegel said. "Smart was very interested in joining the Suns, sources said. But when Doncic made a strong pitch to the 31-year-old, he ultimately elected to join the Lakers instead."

The Los Angeles Lakers made another roster move on Wednesday. The organization officially re-signed a 7-foot-1 center to assist their newly-added center, Deandre Ayton, in the low-post next season.
