The Senate passed President Donald Trump’s signature tax-and-spending legislation on a party-line vote that marks the largest overhaul to the tax code since 2017.

The president and his Senate allies have cited inaccurate claims about their tax and policy bill. As President Trump sought to pass his tax and domestic policy bill, he and his allies have insisted that the legislation would be a boon for seniors and the middle class.

Trump’s bill passed the Senate 51–50, slashing Medicaid and food aid, boosting defense, and now faces a tough House vote before the July 4 deadline.
