Left-hander Joey Cantillo was recalled from Triple-A Columbus and will start tonight against the Cubs in Ortiz’s spot in the rotation. Ortiz was placed on a non-disciplinary leave of absence through the All-Star break today while MLB investigates information that he influenced prop bets when he was pitching for the Guardians.

MLB said Ortiz’s paid leave is through the end of the All-Star break; players return to their teams July 17 and games resume the following day.

MLB is investigating Luis Ortiz and placed the Cleveland Guardians pitcher on nondisciplinary paid leave, the league announced Thursday. The Guardians said they were "not permitted to comment" on the reason.
