Saks Global, after its acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group, is trimming the workforce. The luxury department store company is nixing some positions, according to a Saks Global statement. No details were provided on which roles were cut.

Saks Global is doubling down on its decision to close the historic Neiman Marcus flagship in downtown Dallas. Last week, Saks officials said the decision to close the flagship was due to an inability to come to lease terms with a landlord over a small piece of the property.

Saks Global is unmoved on its intention to close the downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus store as it pushed back against local efforts to save the site.

In a news release, the company reaffirmed that the store will close on March 31, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

The city of Dallas cleared up the supposed ground-lease dispute the parent company tried to use as an excuse to close the store.

A spokesperson for Saks Global says the city is trying to pressure the company into changing its plans by making ‘false and inaccurate’ statements to the media.
