Shows hosted by Jon Stewart (“The Daily Show”), Stephen Colbert (“The Late Show”) and Jimmy Kimmel (“Jimmy Kimmel Live”) will compete for best talk series. Only three series were nominated this year, leaving “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney” out in the cold.

B rand new shows topped the Emmy nominations Tuesday as Colin Farrell’s Batman spinoff “The Penguin” and Seth Rogen’s Hollywood sendup “The Studio” came away with 24 and 23 nominations, respectively, trailing only “Severance,” which led the pack with 27 total nominations.

The 2025 Emmy race has finally kicked off, with Apple’s twisty workplace drama “Severance” leading all shows with 27 nominations. HBO’s DC supervillain series “The Penguin” is close behind with 24 nods, followed by Apple and Seth Rogen’s Hollywood satire “The Studio” and HBO’s vacation thriller “The White Lotus” with 23 apiece.
