A strong American League contender is keeping hopes alive to trade for Dominican Starling Marte from the Mets.

Starling Marte is still drawing interest from the Kansas City Royals, despite a trade for the outfielder falling through during the offseason.

The Royals showed interest in Starling Marte earlier in the offseason, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Those talks obviously didn’t produce a deal, but Sherman adds that Kansas City hasn’t completely closed the door on the possibility.
