As Micah Parsons took questions during an impromptu news conference on Tuesday afternoon, Trevon Diggs stood in support of his teammate. Both Cowboys players — Parsons, with either a hold-in or nursing a balky back as the reasons for not practicing on Day 1 of training camp,
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs gave up $500,000 of his $9 million salary in 2025 after failing to be available for over 84 percent of the team's offseason program as he rehabilitates from the cartilage issue that ended his 2024 campaign.
Diggs' decision to be away from the team stemmed from his desire to work with his own training and rehab specialists in South Florida instead of with the organization. After needing a major knee surgery in January, he is continuing to rehab in anticipation of making a return either during camp or early in the regular season.
And so, in lieu of cornerback Trevon Diggs giving up the ability to make $500,000 more, the team was able to reduce his salary by $500,000 because he didn’t. “ No, I didn’t expect that ,” Diggs told reporters on Tuesday when asked for his reaction to the move. “That kind of hurt my feelings. But it’s OK. Hopefully, I’ll make it back in incentives.”
The Dallas Cowboys announced multiple roster moves Tuesday as they opened training camp in Oxnard, California.
